Cooking Indonesian Style Yellow Porridge with Food Warmer

Ever tried Indonesian Style Yellow Porridge? Try to make one yourself with Swanz Porcelain Food Warmer. A unique porridge recipe with full goodness from the herbs. Ingredients

250g Uncooked rice 1l Chicken Broth 4 Bay leaf

1 Lime Leaf

1 Stalk Lemon grass

6 pcs Red onion

300g Chicken breast

2 tbsp vegetable oil




Sauce

3 pcs Garlic

2 tbsp Coriander

1 tbsp Turmeric Powder


Seasonings:

1  tbsp Salt

1 tbsp Pepper

Local Celery

Fried Shallots



Method

  1. Put in uncooked rice and 1 bay leaf. In a pot, bring 1 litre of chicken broth to boil. Season with salt and pepper and poured into Swanz Food Warmer.

  2. Put red onion, garlic, coriander and turmeric powder into mortar and mash it with pestle.

  3. In a pot, bring 3 cups of water to boil the chicken breast.

  4. Fry the mixture and add in 2 cups water following by 3 bay leaf, 1 lime leaf and lemongrass. 

  5. Put in the chicken and cook for 5min.

  6. Shredded the chicken breast.

  7. Put the sauce, chicken meat with the seasonings added according to taste.

  8. Ready to serve. Enjoy while hot!


Pro Tip

Please be careful as turmeric heavily stain goods. So make sure do not spill it on to fabrics, woods, plastic or steels as the smell and stain might be hard to get rid off. Additional tips, use porcelain, glass or ceramic material to hold your porridge.
